Lita Rossana Ford or Lita Ford as she is most commonly referred to as was an American born British singer and guitarist who led the women-only hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. It was not possible for the band to be a major hit in America but they gained a lot of attention in other countries particularly Japan. Ford started a metal solo career after the band broke up in 1979. Her debut solo album was 'Dancin' on the Edge and was followed by the record Out for Blood. Ford vanished for some years from the music scene as the two albums failed to get the attention they deserved. It was 1988 when she released her hit album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, her popularity was not long-lasting and she was absent from the music industry for a few years. The resurgence of her career came with releases of "Black" in 1995, and "Wicked Wonderland" which came out almost 15 years following. In 2016, she released her most recent studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend award.
