Ariel Winter, born Ariel Winter Workman (Janurary 28, 1998) in Los Angeles California is an American actress, singer, and voice actor. Ariel started her career in acting young, appearing in an Cool Whip commercial at age 6. The actress landed her first TV part at the age of 7 on an episode of the CBS sitcom Listen Up!. Her subsequent roles included Monk Bones, ER and various other television series. In 2007, she was cast in the character of Gretchen for The Disney Original Channel animated series Phineas and Ferb. Two years later she had her breakout live-action role as Alex Dunphy on the hit television show Modern Family. She along with the rest of the Modern Family cast have won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding performance by an Ensemble on a Comedy Series four times. Ariel continues to voice characters from films like ParaNorman Cloudy, With A Chance Of Meatballs & Scooby-Doo! Stage Fright. Ariel has an unofficial purple belt in Taekwondo. She's the younger sister to actors Shanelle Workman and Jimmy Workman. She sings a lot and is a member of the group WickedSweet.
