Coleman was born at Blackpool Lancashire. She graduated from Arnold School Blackpool, where she achieved straight As for the A-levels she took. When discussing her character from Emmerdale Coleman expressed regret over not attending a university. At the time of her schooling, Coleman was part of a theatre company called In Yer Space with whom she played at the Edinburgh Festival in the play Crystal Clear. Her performance was well-received, and the play received positive reviews. Coleman got the Emmerdale character Jasmine Thomas after auditioning with the drama school. Coleman won two awards in 2007. She was nominated for two awards. British Soap Awards nominated her as best newcomer. In the National Television Awards, she received the award for as the most popular newcomer. The award was presented to her in the categories of Best Actress, Sexiest Woman and Best Dramatic performance in the British Soap Awards 2009. Coleman got a nomination in the category of Best Actress from the TV Choice Awards. On 21 March 2012 Doctor Who producer Steven Moffat announced at a press event that Coleman will be the companion of the Doctor alongside Matt Smith after Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill have left the show. Moffat picked her to play the role because she worked most effectively with Smith and could talk faster than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. She has been in the entertainment industry since 1987. She is however, more known for TV projects than movies. Eva's roles in TV series Dr. Maria Santos, in All My Children, and detective Natalia Boa Vista in CSI Miami stand out. The character as Dr. Maria Santos from All My Children garnered her the two Daytime Emmy nominations. This gave her an opportunity to display her talent in music. Eva is not only acting, but she's also a businesswoman and philanthropist. She has been married three times who has a daughter from her second partner.
